Ministry Opportunities...ways to serve.
Parish Ministries:
Children's Ministry: Our children's ministry needs help with set up and take down as well as those willing to assist/teach on an alternating basis. Contact: Mary Gonzalez.
Scripture Readers: If you are interested in reading scripture during worship, please contact Hope Grant.
Prayers of the People: If you’d like to offer the prayers of the people during the worship service, please contact Steve Lake.
Altar Set Up and Take Down: There is a rotation for altar take down and if you’d like to be included on a once a month or once every six weeks basis, contact Sandy Oyler.
Sound: We have a rotation for the sound board. If this is something you are experienced in or would be willing to be trained, contact Alan Savage.
Banners/Aesthetics: We are continually moving toward making our worship space more esthetically beautiful as we follow the church year in our worship. If you have artistic gifts and a desire to help in this way, contact Cindy Bunch.
Music/Worship: We are in the process of building worship teams. If you sing, play an instrument or have experience leading worship, please contact Erin Hollaar.
Ushers/Greeters: If you sense a gifting in hospitality or helps, we invite you to participate in either greeting or ushering. Contact: Heather Gandy.
Ministry of Helps: We invite anyone who is able to sign up to help clean Faith Community Church. We have the responsibility of cleaning once a month on Saturday morning. It takes two people about 2-2 ½ hours to complete the task.
Outreach Ministries:
Feed My Starving Children
We'll be teaming with other Wheaton churches to pack food for hungry children around the world in June, 2012. More information will follow.
Pads: Some of our members are involved in helping with the PADS program which provides meals and shelters for the homeless in DuPage County. Contact: Heather Gandy
Feeding Northwest DuPage: We also collect needed items and donate monies toward the purchase of food for the pantry.
DuPage County Jail: One of our members is a regular volunteer at the local jail. Opportunities are opening for others to be involved. Contact: Linda Richardson.
Creation Care: We have a vital interest in the conservation of the earth God has created for us. We learn about creation care through education and we encourage care of the environment. Contact: Kendra Juskus.
Operation Christmas Child: In cooperation with Samaritan’s Purse, each year we participate in filling shoe boxes with gifts for children around the world.
Our retreats and workshops are open to all and we see these as a means of outreach and as an opportunity to share the Good News with those outside the parish.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
