As friends of the Savior, we are committed to building a community that is growing, not only in love for God but also in love for one another, just as He loved us (1 John 4:11). For we are members of the body of Christ (Romans 7:4; I Corinthians 10:16, 12:27), united together with Him in His suffering, death and resurrection. Therefore, we are called to a common life of “humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:1-6). We seek to cultivate a community that “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things,” together (I Corinthians 13:7). We strive to empower one another to live the Good News in our families, neighborhoods and vocations and to support others who are sharing the Good News both locally and globally (Matthew 28:19-20). We commit ourselves to recognize and to respond to those who are suffering and in need through giving, service, healing prayer and the promotion of social justice (Micah 6:8). |
